Frequently asked questions.

What is the reason behind an onsite inspection before recieving a quote?

With all of our projects we come out to the property and get exact measurements and details of the work needing to be done before providing a quote. The reason for this is for example, not all 40’x60’ building pads require the same amount of material nor are they all as easily accessible. Their may be as little as 6 inches of deviation across the pad or as much as 6 feet. These are all things that can effect the cost and time frame at which a project can be completed. That is why we do this to minimize as many variables as possible.

Is my Septic install exempt from Restrictions?

In order to be exempt your property has to be 10 acres or more and be at least 200’ from any property line.

Can I build A pond next to my septic system?

Septic system absorption field must be more than 50’ from any pond on the property or 100’ from a neighboring property. This 100’ rule also applies to high water mark of streams and lakes.

What Size Septic Tank should i buy?

Not just any type or size tank can be used. When purchasing a property or before building on a property it is generally a good idea to get with your local designated representative (DR) which can be contacted through the Arkansas Department Of Health. Once a perk test is performed the DR will be able to layout a septic system and determine the type and size of tank that is permitted.

Can I provide my own material for the project?

Absolutely. A lot of times it is more feasible and more cost effective to acquire compactable material from the property. These scenarios are more favorable on sites where there is land clearing needed and a burn pit has to be dug anyways. Or in the case of a pond construction where the material being removed can be used for dam and levee construction.

Why does the topsoil need to be stripped before my house pad is built?

The topsoil is filled with organic material and is not compactible. This creates a very soft base that will not support any type of load causing catastrophic failure of any type of structure built on top of it.

Do I need Top soil brought in post construction?

This is always a good idea in areas where there is not much topsoil to stockpile from the construction phase. Compactible material that are used in construction and area grading around the perimeter of the construction does not promote growth of vegetation and will erode rather quickly during rain showers. Top soil is necessary to promote the growth of vegetation and prevent erosion. We also provide this service and then seed and straw to initiate vegetation growth.
